The Alice City Council typically meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. They are held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall at 500 E Main St.
Citizens are encouraged to attend City Council meetings as a way to actively participate in the process of government. If you have questions about the City Council meetings, please call (361) 668-7210.
At least three of the four Councilmembers must be present to constitute a quorum before the official business meeting is called to order. The Mayor, or in his absence, the Mayor Pro Tem, presides at each meeting.
The business to be considered is itemized on an agenda that can be obtained online and on City channel five. If you have an interest in any agenda item and want to address the City Council during the hearing of visitors portion of a regularly scheduled City Council meeting, simply fill out the Hearing of Visitors Form and submit it to the City Clerk no later than 6:15 pm on the date of the Council meeting.
No ordinance, resolution, motion, or vote may be adopted by the City Council except at a meeting open to the public.
